Greetings from the President
My name is Luis Molina and I was elected to preside over LITA in 2017. My family and I run Habana Port Cigar Merchants and we instantly recognized the value of this state trade group when we were asked to join years ago. In an age when fine tobacco is vilified and under constant attack, we felt it was important to band with the other fine tobacco shops in this state to protect our business.
With the assistance of our valuable lobbying partner, Ty Bromell, board members and the active LITA members, our group is vigilant over any proposed cigar and/or pipe tobacco tax increase or smoking prohibition in the state legislature. LITA has defeated every proposal that has come through the Capitol.
Our group is happy to have any business in Louisiana with a Tobacconist Permit join our lobbying efforts. There are several manufacturers like Rocky Patel and Perdomo who recognize that their contributions protect their interests in the Bayou State and have joined as Associate Members.
