LITA (or Louisiana Independent Tobacconists Association) is a state group that represents the interests of small independent tobacconists in Louisiana. Due to the ever-growing threat of draconian legislation and unnecessary cigar taxation, LITA was founded by a group of civic-oriented cigar and pipe tobacco shops in the Bayou State. Our activism helps protect the interests of not only the small shops who engage in the legal trade of cigar and pipe tobacco sales, but also for the end-consumer in Louisiana as we protect the smoking rights of those individuals and oversee the legislation in the Capitol that threaten to increase our taxes.
